Since its inception in 1989, the Jeanne Sauvé Foundation has engaged more than 800 next generation leaders from across Canada and over 70 countries around the world.

Building on 25 years of programming, the Foundation has developed a unique leadership development model. It focuses on transforming outstanding young change agents into self-actualized, globally-minded public leaders and game changers.

Since 2003, the Foundation’s flagship Sauvé Scholars Program and Public Leadership Program have empowered 150 young leaders from over 50 countries.

Mission

The mission of the Jeanne Sauvé Foundation is to connect, engage and empower a new generation of public leadership in Canada and around the world to address key global challenges.

The Foundation draws on the example of The Right Honourable Jeanne Sauvé as a public leader of strength and vision. She was passionate about empowering young people to help build a better, more peaceful world. It brings together a diverse group of remarkable young people from Canada and around the world who are passionate about solving some of our most pressing challenges.

These leaders live together in the culturally rich and diverse city of Montreal while experiencing a residential year of intense inquiry, exchange, collaboration, and supported personal transformation. Together, Fellows hone their skills as cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary thinkers, communicators and collaborators.

Vision

The Jeanne Sauvé Foundation will be recognized in the next decade as a leader in connecting, engaging and empowering a new generation of public leaders – from Canada and around the world – working to address key global challenges. It will do so through its distinctive programming and through partnerships with like-minded organizations.

The Jeanne Sauvé Foundation cultivates the next generation of globally-minded leadership through three pillars of mutually supportive activities: the Jeanne Sauvé Public Leadership Program, the Jeanne Sauvé Fellows Network and the Jeanne Sauvé Forum.
