Congratulations to Sauvé Fellow Manish Thapa (Sauvé Scholar 2006-07) on the publication of India in the Contemporary World: Polity, Economy and International Relations which he co-edited
According to the publisher’s note: “This book brings together Indian and European perspectives on India’s polity, economy and international strategy. It explores internal, regional and global determinants shaping India’s status, position and goals in the early 21st century. Through an array of methodological and theoretical approaches, it presents debates on democracy, economic development, foreign and security policy, and the course of India–European Union relations. The volume will prove invaluable to scholars and students of international relations, politics, economics, history, and development studies, as well as policy makers and economists.”
Manish is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Conflict, Peace and Development Studies, Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and visiting faculty at the Institute of International Relations, University of Warsaw, Poland.
He wrote on Facebook: Big credit also goes to the Jeanne Sauvé Foundation who provided me fellowship which exposed [me] to the highest academic experience at McGill & Concordia University and provoked me to pursue academia as a career and here I am now!!! Thank you all at the Sauvé Foundation for this opportunity!!!
Note: Manish was the publisher – and with Gilli Stern was responsible for the design and layout – of “Reflections, Sauvé Scholars 2006-2007”, the collection of the cohort’s scholarly works and personal accounts of their experiences as Sauvé Scholars.
