2018 marks 25 years since the passing of this remarkable woman of courage and vision.
This year, we celebrate her life, formidable intellect, and passionate commitment to her country. Throughout her distinguished career, she remained at the forefront of the most socially progressive issues of her day.
2018 also marks over 25 years since the founding of the Jeanne Sauvé Foundation, which Madame Sauvé created shortly before her passing. The Foundation draws on the example of Madame Sauvé as a public leader of strength and vision. She was passionate about empowering young people to help build a better, more peaceful world. Today, the Foundation brings together a diverse group of remarkable young people who are passionate about solving pressing global challenges.
Since its inception in 1989, the Foundation has engaged more than 800 next-generation leaders from across Canada and over 70 countries around the world. Building on 25 years of programming, the Foundation has developed a unique leadership development model. It focuses on transforming outstanding young change agents into self-actualized, globally-minded public leaders and game changers.
We are very proud to continue the legacy of Madame Sauvé through the Jeanne Sauvé Foundation today. Her vision and legacy live on through the positive and remarkable work that Sauvé Fellows carry out in Canada and around the world every day.
