We are so proud and happy to continue to support 2010-11 Sauvé Fellow, Anu George Canjanathoppil, in her work as the Director of International Justice Mission Canada.
IJM is a global organization that protects people in poverty from violence by rescuing victims, bringing criminals to justice, restoring survivors to safety and strength, and helping local law enforcement agents build a safe future that lasts.
This fall, IJM officially launched a new project in Romania to combat trafficking in persons (TIP) in partnership with the Romanian federal government and the United States Department of State TIP Office (photos).
The project will support authorities and prosecutors in investigations related to trafficking, as well as raise awareness and educate on human trafficking to people who are most vulnerable. It also aims to improve trauma-informed aftercare services for survivors on their journey to restoration.
Congratulations to Anu for her continued and relentless work in this field!
