Amruth runs an education startup that builds technology solutions to improve teacher quality & student outcomes. His research interests are in behavioural neuroscience & artificial intelligence. He loves writing, travelling, singing, playing guitar and stimulating conversations.
Amruth is the CEO of Guru-G Learning Labs, a startup focused on building teacher-centric technology innovations. Founded in May 2013, Guru-G converts existing content into adaptive teaching packs which provide in-class guidance to teachers on different ways in which they can teach a topic. The guidance adapts to the teacher’s past behaviour, student moods & the practices that have resulted in best learning outcomes for their students. This makes it the easiest, least intrusive and most teacher-friendly way of ensuring that student performance improves. In January 2016, Guru-G won the People’s Choice Award for the best startup at Startup India.
Amruth’s first startup – Vita Beans – has designed over 100 research based products globally. Since its inception, Vita Beans has been recognized by many national and international institutions for its technology, social and business impact. Before Vita Beans, Amruth was involved in the development of several entrepreneurial programs as the President of the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership BITS Pilani, one of India’s top five entrepreneurship centers. The projects at the Center range from an international business challenge to rural entrepreneurship activities.
He also shares a strong passion for research and experimentation. His prototypes have won several accolades, including a Grand Award and a NASA Award at the International Science and Engineering Fair . He was honoured as a Young Achiever by Craig Barrett of Intel during the India World Ahead program in 2007. He has also been an undergraduate research fellow at the Indian Institute of Science ; Tata Institute of Fundamental Research ; and the Indian Institute of Astrophysics , among others, and is a recipient of a KVPY national fellowship from India’s Department of Science & Technology.
Amruth completed his Masters in Physics with a distinction from Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani, where he also served on the Election Commission that ensures that the annual student body elections for over 4,000 students are free and fair.

Testimonial:
My work and learning during my Sauvé Year led to the product that now lies at the heart of my latest company – Guru-G Learning Labs. This was also an year that gave me amazing friends, insightful kitchen conversations about changing the world and most importantly, the abililty to wholeheartedly accept the part of me that refuses to belong to any system that does not feel right and the motivation to keep fighting to make it so.
