As an experienced communications professional, Fatima brings expertise in planning, writing and editing written materials for a range of internal and external audiences including the public, media, government, international agencies and the United Nations. A former journalist, she has edited and written for newspapers working in politically sensitive environments.
Fatima was the senior features editor of The Friday Times (TFT), in Lahore and founded and edited “Books Etc”, TFT’s book review magazine. Fatima is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, and has taught creative writing workshops for gifted children. She has published over 100 articles, reports, book reviews and other publications, and is currently a communications consultant at UNICEF Pakistan.
Fatima earned her BA (Hons) from Harvard University, in Folklore and Mythology. While studying there, she was active in the management of the Harvard Islamic Finance Information Programme.
As a Sauvé Scholar, Fatima was an editor of the McGill International Review and researched and presented a paper on third-gender identities in Pakistan.
