Many of us still know grandma's budget book - and some even keep one themselves: Each month, income and - above all - expenses are written down. Usually, the revenues are also given categories, such as gas, supermarket or restaurant. So grandma could always see exactly what you spent too much on. Antiquated? We don't think so. And we've transferred this ingenious idea into the digital age: with the bank Financial Planner. This article shows you how you can not only keep an eye on your finances, but also keep them under control.
With the new financial planner you can immediately see how much money you are actually spending and where you can still save. You can plan your finances on your PC, tablet or smartphone - no matter where you are. And with the various tools for graphical analysis, you can keep a better overview of your income and expenses.
What the financial planner can do and how it works is already described in detail in several places on our website. In this article, however, we want to show you how you can use it on a daily basis.
Have you ever printed out the turnover list of a month, e.g. of a current account? Especially in a family with several earners and accounts, such a list can become very long. It's hard to tell exactly what you're spending a lot of money on and where you might be able to save some. Categories, such as "Food & Drink", "Car & Traffic" or "Children", help very well to summarize the whole thing once.
This happens automatically with the financial planner: already after you have activated it for one or more accounts, all your turnovers get categories. Our system recognizes most merchants automatically. If not, you can edit "uncategorized expenses" at any time.
There are many ways how your turnovers come about and even more ways how you want to interpret or process them. Therefore the financial planner offers you different ways to work with your sales. For example, you can assign the sales of the above mentioned voucher to...
assign it to another category (e.g. "Gifts & Donations"),
split it (e.g. into 2 categories),
exclude them from the evaluation or
assign a keyword (e.g. "Christmas gifts").
To find out more about your sales or to discover regularities or potential savings, it helps to change the perspective:
In the "Merchant" pie chart, you can see in which retail store (or online merchant in trader app) you spent how much. Here you can see from the merchant names whether you spend more at the discount store or the deli, for example.
The curve diagram "Months" shows you clearly how your sales have developed over the months. Income and expenses are compared by means of two graphs.
When developing our financial planner, it was important to us to give you a variety of options to manage your finances individually. Just use the financial planner as you like, no matter if you are looking for saving potentials or just want to keep your income and expenses in balance.
Due to the wide range of possibilities, the above-mentioned examples of use are only to be understood as suggestions. Try out the financial planner for your current account, clearing account or daily allowance account and discover your personal order of your finances.
